This is a very common point of failure in this machine. Often fails over a long period of time as the gas in the bulb slowly leaks out. As the gas slowly leaked from my unit I kept it in service for about a year by readjusting the cube size control. Eventually enough escaped and I ran out of adjustment. The only option then it to replace the device. Unfortunately this requires disconnecting the unit and removing it from under the counter. Once you get it out in the open It will be necessary to do a nearly complete disassembly of the unit to replace the sensing bulb.
